What this site is
Kinisrocks85 is a memorial website for Sabrina "Kini" Lea Field. Her sister paints rocks in her memory and hides them for people to find. Each rock has a QR code that links to this site, where finders can log where they found it and where they're leaving it next.
This site is run by Kelly (Kini's sister) as a personal project, not a business. We don't sell anything, and we don't use your data for marketing.
What we collect and why
When you log a rock find
- Location name and coordinates — to plot the rock's journey on the map
- Your name (optional) — displayed on the rock's journey page
- A message (optional) — displayed publicly alongside your find
- A photo (optional) — displayed publicly on the site
- Your IP address — for basic spam prevention, not displayed publicly
When you light a candle
- Your name and message (both optional) — displayed on the candle page
- Your IP address — to limit one candle per hour (spam prevention), not displayed publicly
When you share a memory
- Your name (required) — displayed on the memory wall
- Your message (required) — displayed publicly
- A photo (optional) — displayed publicly on the memory wall
Automatically when you visit
- Pages you visit, your IP address, and referrer — for simple visitor statistics (how many people visit, which pages are popular). We don't use any third-party analytics services like Google Analytics.
- A session cookie — a small file that keeps the site working as you browse. It expires after 7 days and contains no personal information. This is the only cookie we use.
How your data is used
- Names, messages, photos, and locations you submit are displayed publicly on this website to track the rocks' journeys and share memories of Kini
- IP addresses are stored for spam prevention and basic site statistics — they are never displayed publicly
- We do not sell, share, or give your data to any third party
- We do not send marketing emails or messages
- We do not use tracking cookies, advertising, or third-party analytics
Photos
Photos you upload are stored using Cloudinary (a cloud image hosting service) and displayed publicly on this site. Please don't upload photos of other people without their permission. If you upload a photo you'd like removed, contact us and we'll delete it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- Ask what data we hold about you
- Ask us to delete your data — including find entries, candles, memories, and photos
- Ask us to correct anything that's wrong
To make any of these requests, email kinisrocks85@gmail.com and we'll sort it as quickly as we can.
Children
This site is suitable for all ages. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, please contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we change what data we collect or how we use it, we'll update this page. This is a small memorial project so changes are unlikely.
